Sending money home: then and now

💡 The idea of “sending money home” from Europe to Africa isn’t new at all. As early as the 19th and early 20th century, African soldiers, sailors, and workers recruited during colonial times would send part of their wages back to their families.

🚢💌These early remittances often travelled by ship captains, traders, or through postal money orders — long before banks had official systems in place.

⛽ So in a way, the African diaspora has been fueling family economies for over 150 years, just with much slower methods than today!

🚀📱Fast forward to now: did you know that money sent from Europe to Africa often travels faster than a letter across town? Thanks to modern mobile money systems like Use LemFi, a person in Paris can send €20 to Nairobi and it shows up on a phone wallet in seconds — sometimes quicker than a bank transfer within Europe itself!

👉 I help people in Europe send money to Africa instantly with zero fees through Use LemFi.

💡 New users get €15 free when sending €100+ with code ''SAM'': https://lnkd.in/dEExKRqd

💪🏾🌍Let’s keep supporting each other, just as our communities have for generations.
